Thinking about renting a sauna for a weekend, gathering, retreat, or at-home reset? This guide explains how Simply Sauna’s short-term wood-fired rentals work in New Jersey, including package options, pricing, delivery, setup, power requirements, payment, and cancellation policies.
Yes, you can rent a wood-fired sauna for a night, a weekend, or as long as a week without buying or permanently installing one.
Simply Sauna offers two short-term sauna rental packages in New Jersey: a mobile barrel sauna for four to six people and a portable sauna tent with a cold plunge included. Both packages are delivered, set up, and retrieved by Simply Sauna. Rentals are available for one to seven nights within our service area around Bedminster, New Jersey.
This guide explains how the process works, what each package costs, what is included, and what to consider before booking.
How does renting a sauna work?
A short-term sauna rental gives you temporary access to a complete wood-fired sauna experience at your home, rental property, gathering, or other suitable location. You choose the package and dates, provide the delivery address, select any available add-ons, and submit a booking request online.
The process is straightforward:
Choose between the mobile barrel sauna and the sauna tent with cold plunge.
Select a rental period of one to seven nights.
Enter the delivery address and choose any available add-ons.
Submit the booking request and payment authorization.
Once approved, Simply Sauna delivers and sets up the equipment, provides a safety orientation, and returns at the end of the rental to retrieve it.
The sauna is ready for you to heat and use during the rental period. Both short-term packages use wood-fired heat, so they do not require household electricity.
What short-term sauna rentals are available?
Simply Sauna currently offers two distinct packages. The right choice depends on the type of experience you want, your group, and whether a cold plunge should be included.

What is included with the mobile barrel sauna?
The barrel package includes:
Traditional wood-fired mobile barrel sauna
Capacity for four to six people
Professional delivery and setup
Safety orientation
Two bundles of firewood
Fire starter kit
Water bucket and ladle
Thermometer and hygrometer
Slippers
Four camping chairs
Retrieval at the end of the rental
The barrel sauna is intended to provide the familiar feel of a traditional wood-fired sauna in a mobile format. Its larger, solid-wood structure can be a good fit for groups, backyard gatherings, weekend stays, and occasions where the sauna itself should be a central part of the setting.
What is included with the sauna tent and cold plunge?
The tent package includes:
Portable wood-fired sauna tent setup
Cold plunge
Professional delivery and setup
Safety orientation
Firewood starter kit
Retrieval at the end of the rental
This package combines sauna heat and a cold plunge in one rental. It can be a strong choice when you specifically want both experiences without adding a separate cold plunge to the reservation.
What is the difference between the barrel sauna and the tent package?
The biggest differences are the physical format, pricing, capacity information, and cold-plunge configuration.
Choose the mobile barrel sauna when you want:
A traditional solid-wood sauna environment
Published capacity for four to six people
The option to add a cold plunge or fire pit
A trailer-mounted sauna that can serve as a visual centerpiece for the occasion
Choose the sauna tent and cold plunge package when you want:
A portable wood-fired sauna format
A cold plunge included automatically
Lower starting pricing for a one-night rental
Tiered pricing that reaches a $1,500 cap for six or seven nights
Neither package is universally better. The barrel offers the more traditional sauna setting and a stated four-to-six-person capacity. The tent package builds the cold plunge directly into the experience and uses a different pricing structure.
Where does Simply Sauna deliver?
Simply Sauna delivers short-term rentals within 60 miles of its Bedminster, New Jersey headquarters.
Within 20 miles: free delivery
More than 20 miles and up to 60 miles: $200 delivery fee
NYC boroughs: not served
The delivery address is evaluated during booking. Because the service area reaches outward from Bedminster, it can cover parts of New Jersey and nearby areas within the permitted radius.
When are the saunas delivered and picked up?
Delivery occurs between 6 PM and 8 PM Eastern Time on the first rental date. Pickup occurs between 6 PM and 8 PM Eastern Time on the final rental date.
Someone must be present for both delivery and pickup. These handoffs allow the team to complete setup and retrieval safely and to provide the necessary orientation at delivery.
It is important to consider these windows when choosing your dates. If you want the sauna available throughout a Saturday, for example, beginning the rental on Friday allows delivery and setup Friday evening.
Does a short-term sauna rental require electricity?
No. Both short-term sauna packages are wood-fired and do not require household electricity.
This eliminates the need for a dedicated electrical connection, but the sauna still needs time to heat. A wood-fired sauna typically takes 45 to 90 minutes to reach the desired temperature, depending on the conditions and how hot you want the sauna.
How much space does the barrel sauna require?
The barrel sauna needs a flat, accessible area suitable for safe trailer placement. The delivery route and location must also allow the unit to be delivered and retrieved safely.
Customers are responsible for obtaining any applicable municipal, homeowner-association, landlord, venue, or property-owner permissions. If you are uncertain whether the intended site can accommodate the barrel sauna, discuss the location with Simply Sauna before finalizing plans.
Can I rent a sauna for a weekend?
Yes. Weekend rentals are one of the most natural uses for a short-term sauna.
A two-night rental can work well for:
A weekend at home
A birthday or private gathering
A wellness retreat
A vacation-property stay
A wedding weekend
A corporate or community event
A dedicated recovery or relaxation weekend
The important scheduling detail is that delivery takes place on the first rental date and pickup on the final rental date, both during the evening window. Select dates that provide the amount of usable time you want between those handoffs.
Can I rent a sauna for just one night?
Yes. Both packages can be rented for one night.
The barrel sauna costs $450 for a one-night rental before delivery fees and add-ons. The sauna tent and included cold plunge cost $400 for one night before the delivery fee and optional extra firewood.
How do booking approval and payment work?
When you submit a booking request, your card is authorized but not immediately charged. Simply Sauna reviews the request and captures the payment only after approving the booking.
If the request cannot be confirmed within 24 hours, it expires and the authorization is released. A reservation is not confirmed until you receive confirmation from Simply Sauna.
Eligible customers may also see Klarna or Affirm at checkout, subject to those providers’ approval and terms. Qualifying customers interested in possible HSA/FSA reimbursement should review the HSA/FSA process before booking because the required consultation must occur before the eligible purchase.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellations made more than 48 hours before delivery are eligible for a full refund minus a $20 processing fee.
Cancellations made 48 hours or less before delivery are non-refundable.
Simply Sauna may offer rescheduling or a credit when inclement weather or a safety concern affects the rental, but that determination is made at its discretion. Review the current Terms of Service before booking.
How far in advance can I reserve a sauna?
Short-term rentals can be requested up to 90 days in advance. Availability depends on the selected package because the barrel sauna and tent package have separate calendars.
Booking earlier is helpful when the rental is connected to a fixed event date, holiday weekend, retreat, or other occasion that cannot easily be moved.
Is a short-term sauna rental right for you?
A short-term rental makes sense when you want a real sauna experience without purchasing equipment or making a permanent installation. It also gives you the opportunity to experience wood-fired sauna heat across more than one session during a weekend or multi-night stay.
The barrel sauna is generally the stronger choice when traditional construction, group capacity, and visual presence matter most. The tent-and-cold-plunge package is attractive when you want a portable setup with the cold plunge already included.
If you are still comparing the two, start with the short-term rental overview. It brings both options, their core differences, and current policies together in one place.
